It’s my favorite time of year – it’s Ramp Season!
Ramps are one of the first wild edibles to come up in the spring….and my oh my how I love them! The best way to describe them is like a wild leek crossed with garlic. Onion-y, garlic-y, with a taste all their own…..anyone I’ve introduced them to has fallen under their spell. There are only around for about six weeks, so you have to jump on it, they won’t be around come July! I’ll be sharing a new recipe soon…but if you find some ramps and want a suggestion or two for them right away, here are two of my all-time favorite ramp recipes: Roasted Chicken with Ramp and Potatoes and Ramp Buttermilk Biscuits. Soooo, good!
