My Kind of Picture-Postcard

Cracker Barrel Pig

Cracker Barrel Pig

This is hands-down *the best* picture postcard I have ever received.  Ever.

You can tell a person *really* knows you when the sight of a robust porker with the Cracker Barrel logo makes them think of you! *smile*

And you can tell that he is a *really* good friend when he’s on a business trip….fiddling with scraps of paper and handwritten directions and the voice of the GPS lady…..but in the midst of all that he whizzes by, catches sight of this pig…and promptly pulls a U-Turn at 90 mph, *just* so he can snap a picture to send to you.  ET, you are a wonder!

We didn’t start out as pig-animal lovers.  We started out as pig-the-most-delicious-meat-on-earth lovers.  But, over the years, Carolyn and I–as hosts of “Pork Fest!” (an All-Pork, All-Night-Long party)–have become partial to anything pig.

Pig serving platters, pig figurines, pig swizzle-sticks….we even have a couple of those disposable styrofoam coolers (yeah, they say disposable…we’ve been pampering them and buffing them to a shine for years now)  from a Piggly Wiggly in South Carolina (Purchased during our Great-American-Barbecue road trip.  Ahh, that was a great road trip.  Great eating, great country, great adventures…..Go ahead, ask Carolyn how it felt to be forced to pick cotton like a field hand in Arkansas.  Just ask her. )

Piggly Wiggly Cooler

The "Official" Cooler of PorkFest!

Ahhh, all these great memories from one fun little pig picture—Thank you again, ET–you made my day. *smile*

‘Cause really, the only way this picture-postcard could’ve made me any happier is if  it had come with one of those Lodge cast iron skillets with the Cracker Barrel logo on the bottom and my own personal country ham.  And by ‘personal’, I mean a whole one.

Yes.  I know they are generally in the 15-17 pound range.

Not to worry.  I’ve got friends.

And I might even share.  *smile*
